Pigment Correct (30ml)

Pigment Correct is a must-have single serum solution for anyone wanting to achieve a brighter and more even-toned complexion.

It offers a naturally-derived alternative to hydroquinone for tackling pigmentation. Whatever your skin type, everyone has increasing pigmentation due to multiple factors including sun damage and hormonal fluctuations. This results in dulling of the skin and uneven skin tone.

A key difference between Pigment Correct and many other brightening products, is that one of the plant extracts used not only helps prevent pigmentation but also tackles pre-existing pigmentation. 4 other key actives: Kojic Acid, Rumex Occidentalis Extract, Alpha-arbutin and Nano-peptide-1 combine to form exceptional inhibition of melanin (pigment) production.

Most users report visibly more radiant skin within 4 weeks. This serum also offers a hydrating boost from hyaluronic acid, making it a valuable component of any skincare regime.

Pigmentation is one of the top 3 subliminal signs an observer processes to formulate a perception of skin damage and ageing. The pigmentation process starts from when we are born and whatever our age, we all have pigmentation due to sun damage. Other factors such as hormones (pregnancy, menopause) and health conditions (diabetes, Addison’s disease) may accelerate the formation of pigment spots or patches.

Tyrosinase is a key enzyme in melanocytes, potentiating melanin synthesis. Pigment Correct, contains a high concentration of 4 key inhibitors of melanin synthesis: Kojic Acid, Rumex Occidentalis Extract, Nanopeptide-1 and Alpha-arbutin.

In studies, Nanopeptide-1 alone, can inhibit 25-35% of tyrosinase activity and reduce the melanin content of melanocytes by 27-43%. It also interferes with melanocyte stimulating hormone (MSH) which increases during pregnancy, excessive sun exposure and in certain medical conditions.

A randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial comparing Rumex occidentalis 3% cream with 4% hydroquinone cream in epidermal and mixed melasma in Filipino patients (Mendoza et al) concluded that it “is a safe and effective skin-lightening agent for melasma and is comparable in efficacy with 4% hydroquinone cream.

Arctostaphylos Uva Ursi Leaf Extract is also able to tackle pre-existing pigmentation, thus giving it a two-tiered approach. Furthermore, the extract is nutrient-rich and includes oleanolic acid and ursolic acid. Both of these contribute to anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties. Kojic acid is also an effective anti-oxidant. These ingredients and properties potentiate the depigmenting potential of the formula.

Pigment Correct is the easy choice for prevention and treatment of pigmentation in any patient.
